What is Vles?

VLES is a new music discovery community on the web, that is modeled after New York City‘s Lower East Side—a Mecca for young bands and music. It‘s also where artists, fashion designers, and party promoters mix together in a big network of trendsetting, partying, music-loving euphoria. We found those people, asked for their help, and together we created the Virtual Lower East Side (VLES). We hope you like it.

Why did we do this?

We love watching live music and we wanted to share this experience with more people. It‘s not always easy to catch great music live. Now, no matter where you live, you can watch your favorite new band at the virtual Annex or the virtual Cake Shop (or one of our other lovingly recreated virtual hangouts.) We‘ve made it easy for you to fall in love with new bands alongside an entire community of likeminded people. Wow.

Who did this?

Originally conceived by MTV Music Group, we teamed up with the Virtue group for Music Production, Marketing and Creative Consulting. The corresponding website was put together by the Donat Group, with the Artistic Guidance of Signature Creative.

How is it going to work?

Create your avatar, dress yourself in your favorite clothes and come hang out with us. Or, ignore us and stay chatting with your friends.

We are shooting the best up–and–coming acts that pass through Downtown Manhattan. You will see a program of events on the VLES.com website and you can sign up for weekly event emails if you want a reminder.

We spent the last year-and-a-half building a 24-hour, one-stop musical utopia and we want you to be part of it. Come have fun, invite your friends, meet new friends, and discover new music.
